The use of various mirrors to decorate the balcony, next to the stairs, in the corridor, or on the large wall of the living room is quite noticeable lately. As it looks great, it adds several folds to the beauty of the room. Instead of store-bought mirrors, what if we could make some great-looking mirrors cheaply with some readily available materials? But today, let’s learn how to make some beautiful handmade mirrors to enhance the beauty of the room-
Aesthetic mirrors to enhance the room:
The trend of using aesthetic mirrors to decorate the house started quite some time ago. It also shows taste. Let’s have a look at some handmade mirror designs-
1) Sunburst Mirror:
A sunburst mirror is essentially a mirror designed to reflect the way we see the sun. This stunning wall mirror can be made with just a few readily available materials.
What will it take to make it?
*A round mirror.
*Cardboard.
*Saslik stick or long paper roll.
*Glue, hot glue gun.
*Small mirrors or dollars of different sizes and shapes as desired.
*Spray paint/acrylic paint.
*Jute rope.
*Scale, pencil, compass.
How to make it?
1. First, take a round mirror of your desired size. Place the mirror on the cardboard and trace the size. Now draw another circle 3 to 4 inches bigger next to this circle and cut it. The base of the mirror is made. Cut another cardboard circle the size of this larger circle. Mark the round base of cardboard into four equal parts with the help of a compass and scale.
2. If you take a paper roll, then make a paper tube. Make sure that the paper tubes are equal in width. Cut the sausage sticks/paper tubes into small and large sizes. Take a stick or paper tube 10 inches and cut another 7 or 6 inches. You can do three sizes if you want.
3. Paint the sticks or paper tubes with spray paint or acrylic color. You can use silver or gold to give a metallic look. If painting acrylic, spray paint over it to make the color last longer.
4. First, glue the four large sticks/paper tubes onto the four spots on the cardboard. Place the sticks/paper tubes slightly inside the circle the size of the mirror so that the mirror can be placed on it. After placing the four main sticks/paper tubes, glue the sticks/paper tubes in the gaps, one big, then one small, or in a pattern of your choice.
5. Now, place the mirror in the center with a little more glue so that the mirror can hold its weight.
6. Place a small round mirror/dollar on the head of each stick/paper tube. Place three mirrors/dollars on the big sticks/paper tubes and two on the smaller ones at a certain distance. If you want more density, you can put more than this. Moreover, you can take mirrors or dollars of different shapes.
Ways to hang mirrors:
Behind the mirror, make a thick jute rope on the cardboard base and glue it into a loop to hang it on the wall. Take another round of cardboard and place it over it to keep the rope from unraveling.
That’s it! The Sunburst mirror is ready. You can round the mirror and apply the mantel line; this will give a gorgeous look, and the stick/paper tube head will not be visible. You can also paint the beads to give them a full metallic look. But it is not mandatory. If you want, you can keep it fresh without putting it.
2) Cloth-framed mirror:
Many times, our favorite sarees or clothes get torn or damaged in some places. They can be used to make beautiful aesthetic mirror frames. A cardboard frame or a ready-made wooden mirror – both can be framed with fabric. I am giving the picture of the wooden frame here. But the process is the same for both.

2. On the mirror-sized piece of large cardboard cut out, trace the mirror shape from the inside to make the cardboard look like a frame.
3. Measure the cardboard frame from the old fabric. Cut the fabric 1 or 1/2 inches more than this measurement. Trace the inside of the frame on the fabric, and cut the fabric large enough to wrap around.
4. Wrap the piece of cloth with glue around the frame-like part of the cardboard and apply it well. Apply in such a way that no folds of clothes fall.
5. Glue this piece like a frame onto a large piece of cardboard. Glue the mirror in the middle space and fix it well.
6. Make a loop with the rope behind the mirror board and attach it with glue. For a little more strength, you can cut a small piece of cardboard and attach it to the board on this rope. If the size is small, you can cut it lengthwise with cardboard mak,e a stand, and place it on the table like a photo frame.
